The entire topic and discourse around wine can be classist, but it doesn’t have to be. Enjoying a decent bottle of wine doesn’t have to cost a ton of money but neither should it compromise on quality. You can grab a pretty nice bottle of wine from your local grocery store, or even a gas station (that’s a perk of living in Northern California) that’s not garbage. I have a few wine brands that I grab from the grocery store and sometimes Seven Eleven, when I’m in a rush or don’t want to spend a ton of money. Let’s get…

Pasta is my love language. Well, one of many of my love languages. I found this simple recipe online and read that spaghetti with Garlic and Olive Oil is a staple in Italian households and is often served late at night after an evening out with family and friends. It’s a simple recipe to toss together when you’re short on time. Since the ingredients are minimal, it’s a great buildable dish. INGREDIENTS: INSTRUCTIONS: This dish is easy to customize. You can add red pepper flakes, parsley, basil, or even parmesan. Do what suits your tastebuds. Let me know if you…

If I’m being honest, veggie wrap wasn’t on my food radar. It’s not a meal that I trypically grab for, but I had a pack of flour tortillas left over from the veggie quesadillas and didn’t want them to go to waste. As a result, the veggie wrap was created! It’s really simple and a great lunch, especially if you’re working from home. INGREDIENTS INSTRUCTIONS: I also made a glass of watermelon punch to wash the wraps down with. A few months back, I purchased a HUGE watermelon from this watermelon truck on the side of the road. It was…

One thing I’ve learned during this Fast is how easy it is to convert Mexican food to vegetarian and/or vegan options, if you don’t mind vegan cheese. I really enjoy Mexican food, so this was nothing short of good news for me. INGREDIENTS For the Guacamole: INSTRUCTIONS Quesadillas are really easy to prepare and take no time. I’ll probably add shrimp in this recipe at a later date. You can add any vegetable that you like if you prefer a veggie version, or any protein you like. I am not the one to add measurements to most recipes. I season…

Avocado Toast is such a simple and versatile meal to make. You can literally customize it to your own liking. I tend to keep mine the same because the ingredients are staples in a lot of my meals and are typically always in my fridge. Avocado toast also forces me to be a bit more intentional with adding healthy options to my meals, as well. I usually have it with a side of fruit, a boiled egg, or a fresh fruit smoothie or carrot juice. I encourage you to try out different variations of avocado toast, even if I don’t.…

Fasting can present a number of challenges. Whether it’s physically, mentally, financially, or spiritually, there are adjustments that have to be made. I’m currently on a spiritual fast that will benefit me physically, mentally, financially, and spiritually! One of the conditions of this Fast is the removal of meat and dairy from my diet. I was a practicing vegan for about 6 years, but slowly reintroduced meat back into my life over the last year. I want to use this Fast as an opportunity to reset my body and transition back to a cleaner diet. Preparing meals that don’t consist…

French toast is my favorite breakfast! This dish is perfect to make on Christmas morning becasue all of the preparation takes place the night before. Pop it in the oven first thing in the morning and bake it for 45 minutes while opening presents. I decided to top my portion with warm Whiskey Maple Syrup, a side of fresh fruit, and a glass of orange juice mimosa. Head over to episode 2 of Easy Eats on YouTube to watch me prepare and take a look at the beautiful Christmas Tablescape! I found this recipe here and have made it my…

For anyone who has ever had a glass of wine with me, they are well aware that my wine of choice is Cabernet Sauvignon. As with many beginner wine drinkers, red wine was never my drink of choice, but as I’ve gotten older and my palate has changed, I’ve become a red girl. I especially love a good bottle of red during the winter months, but that doesn’t stop me from indulging during the summer. So let’s get into this month’s wine of the month. Winery: Longevity Winery | Wine Maker: Phil LongFamily owned and Black Owned vineyard located in…

When I was a kid, I remember watching The Young and the Restless religiously! Whenever Victor Newman would have visitors he would serve liquor (likely Scotch) from the decanter on his bar cart. I couldn’t wait until I became an adult and impress my guests in that same way. Fast forward, I’m an adult and serving glasses of wine to myself. The upside? I’m serving myself from a fancy decanter. To be honest, I make it a mission to treat myself just as well as I would treat my guests. That means, delicious bottles of Zinfandel, from beautiful decanters, into…
