Let me be honest, I’m not a chef. I don’t even consider myself to be a great cook if we’re being honest. So why would I create a cooking show? It’s simple. I love bringing people together and nothing brings people together better than food, great drinks, and stimulating conversation.
I started Easy Eats during the pandemic. We were all at home looking for things to keep us entertained. One thing I know for sure, is that the longer you sit around at home with nothing to do, the hungrier you are. I don’t understand the math, but that’s just what it is. During the pandemic I wanted to prepare easy meals that were simple to make but still taste good. Meals that any one could make regardless of their skill and that’s how the foundation of Easy Eats was laid.
Fast Forward to present day, and I’ve built (and am still building) on the concept of this cooking show. In each episode, I incorporate the knowledge I’ve obtained like my WSET wine certification, by pairing every meal with the perfect wine variety. I also like to include my family history, recipes, and traditions, such as gathering around a simple meal with loved ones. Setting beautiful tablescapes to make my guests feel special and appreciated is another add on to each episode. I’ve recently started to incorporate locally sourced food products in each meal to highlight and show love to Bay Area makers. In the grand scheme of things, the type of meal and the level of extrvagance is a small pebble in the pond as long as we are all together enjoying the moment. That doesn’t mean that I skimp out on the quality of the food I serve. I do work to provide a meal that my guests will enjoy whether it’s a recipe that’s been passed down, a new recipe I’ve found online (or at a restaurant) that I’ve made my own, or something I created off the top of my head.
The goal of Easy Eats it’s to show that whether you are a stay at home parent, a working outside of the home parent, or a single career driven person, you can create easy meals that aren’t pretentious. You can also invite loved ones over for a simple dinner party with great vibes, good food, and a great bottle of wine!
