Hair Growth Schedule – 2024

Hair has always been an accessory to me. I change the style quite often, and in January of 2023 I cut it in to this cute pixie cut! The original cut was giving me 1990s HBCU vibes and I loved it. Unforutnately, the cut got shorter and we just couldn’t get that vibe back. I started to feel like the cut made me look older. Fast forward a few short months later and I was on a mission to grow my hair back out and I’m still on that mission. I’m not sure of the ultimate goal, but I do know that I want to get it back to the length from 2018, at least.

So I devised a plan. Braids have always been a part of my hair care routine. Growing up I had so much hair that my mom had to create styles during the school year that would last a few days, but when the summer break hit, it was time for braids of some sort; french braids, plaits, cornrows, you name it! It wasn’t until I was in the 7th grade that I was allowed to get box braids with added hair and my life thereafter changed. Every since that moment, I’ve been getting boxed braids, senegalese twists, cornrows, straightbacks, fulani braids, faux locs, knotless braids, etc every summer. This summer is no different. This year is different, though. I now have a hair goal as opposed to simply giving my strands a break. My goal is (touching) shoulder length hair by the end of the year. With that being said, I’ve come up with a hair schedule for the next few months.

The End Goal (for now)- 2018

Initial Cut – January 2023

Shorter Cut – February 2023

The last cut – May 2023

2024 Goal

I can’t wait to go on this journey with you!

xoxo,
Starr
