Solitude || Isaiah 43:18-19

“Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” ~ Isaiah 43:18-19
……
Listen Linda. Solitude is not for the faint, mmkay?! I am a loner, I delight in being alone, but it’s typically by choice, not by force. This type of solitude is all God. This solitude will bully you into acknowledging self and learning some things about yourself that you probably won’t like. This solitude will snatch away every person, place, and/or thing that you leaned and relied on, that made you comfortable, that made you feel good. This solitude will leave you lonely, afraid, vulnerable, sleepless, friendless, angry, resentful, full of tears, full of anxiety, yet with all of that….somehow hopeful. Hopeful that with all of the purging and pruning of persons, places, and things, that God has taken you through, the reward is much greater than you can ever fathom.

God will take everything out of your life that shouldn’t be and bring into your life everything that He predestined to be. Forget about those persons, places, and things of the past and allow God to create a new thing in you, through you, and for you. God takes you through the process to get you to the Promise but it will take some moments of solitude to recognize it.

Embrace your solitude. Embrace the discomfort. God is creating a new thing in you!
