Black authors write great stories. To be honest, I don’t feel like I’m doing Brack Writers much justice considering the plethora of options that are available for all of us to take in. Hopefully, these weekly lists will spark something in you that will push you to not only read the selections I have provided, but to look for other Black authors in the genre of your preference. I will provide a suggestion each week of Black History Month in the genres of Fiction, Crime, Anti Racism, Romance, and Banned/Challenged.

Fiction: Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson
Crime: Devil in a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley
Anti Racism: The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein
Romance: This Could be Us by Kennedy Ryan
Banned: The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah Jones
This week’s shop links take you directly to Mahogany Books. They are located in Maryland but if you are not in the area, online shopping is available.
Have you read any of the books recommended? Do you have suggestions for any of the genres listed? Let me know in the comments.
Happy Reading!
xoxo,
Starr
