Top 5 Must Haves | Shoes

The truth of the matter is, I’m not here to encourage or influence over consumption. I believe in only purchasing what you actually need, in most cases. 🙂 I’ve been working on creating a wardrobe that can last the test of time and eventually will only require new purchases to replace items that need to be replaced. I recently donated a TON of shoes to a Urban University, a local organization that helps to educate, empower, and seve single mothers and their families. I highly encourage you to read more about who they are and what they do.

With that said, I took inventory of the shoes I no longer wore and started to add the shoes that get the most wear and that can be worn with anything. These five styles (or variations of) should be in every woman’s closet.

  1. A black slingback heel – This is a very versatile shoe that can be dressed up or down and worn to the office or to dinner. This is also a great shoe whether as a stileto or a kitten heel. I like this pair because of the extra interest on the side and the heel height.
  2. A fashion sneaker is a must, specifically a white/black shoe. If your closet is a bit more colorful, then choose a shoe color combo that works best for your style. I have this brand of shoe in a brown/ivory colorway and I love them. I like this style because of its simplicity.
  3. A flat sandal is an easy shoe to wear. Obviously, I love a versatile shoe and this can be styled with a number of pieces in your closet. This particular shoe is a designer dupe for a fraction of the cost.
  4. Flats are necessary when you hit a certain age. 🙂 I’m honestly tired of wearing heels all of the time, so a flat shoe gets a lot of wear in my closet. A ballet flat can go in this spot, as well, but if loafers are more your jam, like they are mine, then this loafer give designer vibes for a lower cost but much better leather quality, in my opinion.
  5. Boots should be in every closet. An ankle boot can honestly be worn more than a knee high boot, if you ask me. You can either grab a heeled version or a flat. I have this pair in my closet and it gets a LOT of cost per wear.

Obviously, you want to choose styles and colors that fit your lifestyle and your fashion style, but having these styles to choose from will provide huge assistance when choosing what to wear on any given day.
