Pasta is my love language. Well, one of many of my love languages. I found this simple recipe online and read that spaghetti with Garlic and Olive Oil is a staple in Italian households and is often served late at night after an evening out with family and friends. It’s a simple recipe to toss together when you’re short on time. Since the ingredients are minimal, it’s a great buildable dish.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 package of spaghetti
- Salt, to taste
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 cup of spinach
- Oregano to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to instructions on box
- Right before pasta is done, heat the olive oil in a sauce pan, add the garlic. Stir until garlic is lightly browned. Careful not to burn
- Add spinach to olive oil mix and sauté until spinach begins to wilt.
- Drain pasta and transfer to a large bowl.
- Add olive oil and spinach mix and stir.
- Top with oregano. Serve immediately
This dish is easy to customize. You can add red pepper flakes, parsley, basil, or even parmesan. Do what suits your tastebuds.
