ROYAL BLUE SOFAS

Every time I move, I feel the need to purchase all new furniture.  New space, new beginnings, right?  Well, my last place was completely brown and blah, very traditional, very safe, and very much expected. I made the decision that the next place I move to will show a bit of my personality with no apologies, stepping outside of the lines.  In my head, I knew exactly what kind of sofa I wanted, Royal Blue, Regal, button tufting, sectional, of course, and glamorous!  I knew the one place that would provide the best chance of finding exactly what I wanted, or very close.  So I internet browsed right to zgallerie.com and found EXACTLY what I was looking for.  I called my nearest location, and received the best deal EVER, on the floor model, contingent upon my ability to pick the piece up, THAT day, with cash in hand.

This sofa is the most beautiful thing I’ve placed my eyes on, so naturally I want to share with you my four favorite royal blue sofas. I hope you step outside of the box and go for it!

Don’t be afraid to go bold in your living space and show your true personality.  If the color frightens you, make one piece the pop of color, surrounded by softer neutral colors, or throw a few bright colored pillows on your sofa and/or bed to spruce things up.

Your home should be a direct reflection of who you are, so surround yourself with the things you love.  Your home should wrap it’s arms around you as soon as you enter the front (or garage) doors!

Happy Shopping!

FAVE SCRIPTURES

In the book of Romans, Paul says that “when I go to do good, evil is always present.”

Every single day of my Christian journey is a struggle; not because I’m an evil person, but simply because I’m a person.  I’m human.  Evil is always present. Bad things happen to good people.  All of those things you’ve heard so many times before, But God…

But God can only deliver us from evil doings.

But God is the one who is our comforter when we are surrounded by tens of people, yet still feel alone.

But God is the one who KNOWS we do evil, but loves us anyway.

How comforting is that?  I know that whenever there is a situation in my life that I may think is negative, God always has something positive right behind it. I want to encourage you with a few scriptures that get me through tough times; whether if it’s a battle within myself (Evil lurking) or a battle with outside forces.

Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In all things, seek God FIRST!  That’s all…

2 Corinthians 12:9 – But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Jesus!  This scripture speaks to me!!  There are many times where I have been in a situation where either the people or the situation is a pain in my neck, but I have recently been in a situation where it’s felt like a thorn in my side!  I prayed and asked God to pretty much deal with it, then one day, this scripture was laid right in front of me.

The Apostle Paul was given a thorn in his flesh and he prayed the same prayer, THREE times for God to remove it, but God said, “No.  My grace is sufficient!!”

As opposed to asking God to remove this thorn, I started asking God to help me to deal, in spite of.  I’ve learned that His grace is sufficient, where I am weak, He is strong.  Once I have learned to rely on God’s grace, then I realized that the experience has and will continue to teach me patience.  I encourage you to view that sharp torment as a gift from our heavenly Father.

Luke 1:37 – For with God nothing shall be impossible.

My mantra is to live without limits.  Live in a fashion where you aren’t limiting yourself to certain skill sets, or goals and aspirations.  Many times the reason(s) people don’t try new things, or travel to unfamiliar and foreign places, or take deserving vacations, is because they feel that they are not worthy.  Those sorts of things are not things, or not places, or not adventures that they feel they deserve to experience. In addition, many people don’t go after certain positions in their career because they don’t think that the hiring manager will ever choose “someone like them”.

God doesn’t limit us.  He doesn’t limit our abilities, nor does He limit our potential, so why should we put those limits on ourselves?!  NOTHING is impossible with God on our side.

1 Chronicles 4:10 – Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.

I usually recite and read this scripture daily.  I’m simply asking God to increase not only my territory, but increase me.  Increase me in every aspect of my life, but in the midst of my increase, stay with me to keep me from pain.

Scripture can provide so much hope and joy and peace and guidance and wisdom and comfort. I pray that the scriptures I’ve chosen as my Friday faves encourages you to continue to rely on Christ and give you the comfort that you need.

FAVE NFL TEAMS

Soooo, I’m late, once again, story of my life, BUT…

Football season is finally here!!  Hoo-Ray!! I’m a huge football fan and records show that the percentage of female football fans is on the rise!  Kudos to the NFL for hiring the first female official, Sarah Thomas!  Girl Power!

Whatever your reason is for devoting your Sundays to football frenzy, after church, of course, let it be known!

For my Four Friday Faves, I’m giving you the top four NFL teams on my list.  With 32 teams in the NFL, this list is not scored solely on the team, itself.  I had to throw in a few more determining factors, such as food, fashion, city, etc… Get into it!

4. San Francisco 49ers

ddcfcc2c1e7d3f74c23bfd941686c1c2

The Niners, as Faithful 49ers fan name their home team, are not the faves to win much of anything this season with the number of changes in staff and roster, but that doesn’t stop me from putting them on my #4FF.  First of all, Levi’s stadium is amazing and has been praised for its technological advancements and environmental sustenance, such as a 27,000 square foot “Green Roof” on the top of the stadium’s suite tower. In addition, the employees/ushers are probably a few of the best dressed Stadium employees I’ve seen in the NFL.  Secondly, the team is located in the Bay Area of California.  I mean, who doesn’t love the Bay!?  Great weather, fresh seafood, Union Square, Full House, and Riley Curry! Did I mention that the 49ers has THE SEXIEST player of all 32 teams? Hey Colin! ♥

3. Green Bay Packers

Green-Bay-Packers

What makes the Packers a fave for me?  Aaron Rodgers, Mr. Discount Double Check, himself.  In the words of Stephen A. Smith, he’s a baaaaadddd man! Who wouldn’t be with a successor like Brett Favre?  Green Bay’s A.Rod is exciting to watch and you can’t help but to cheer for him. Not to mention, the Packers fans are the shareholders of the team, for a cost, of course.  The main purpose of community ownership is to ensure the team stays in Green Bay.  In my opinion, this makes for faithful fans!  Oh and ummm, Who doesn’t like cheese?

2. Houston Texans

texans_bull_by_alphasunking-d5ovxia

Houston is the 4th largest city in the country and the place I call home.  I could NOT create a list of this sort and not show my city love!  Houston has arguably one of the best defenses in the league led by the town celebrity, Defensive End JJ Watt.  He’s everywhere!  Ironically, I’ve never bumped into him in these H-Town streets!  Come to Houston and experience the Southern Hospitality you’ve heard so much about.  Houston makes for a great place to raise a family, hit the town and most importantly EAT until your heart’s content!  With the city being  the most ethnically diverse large metropolitan area in the country we are sure to have a variety of food choices!  Our traffic sucks, but that’s because more and more people are moving here due to the low cost of living.  In case y’all forgot, Houston created Beyonce. H-Town stand up!

Back to football….

Don’t be fooled, the Texans have a few pieces of eye candy on the roster, as well. Hey JJ and Arian! #BullsonParade

  1. Dallas Cowboys

dallascowboys

So, let’s get one thing straight, I may live in Houston, but I’m a Cowboys fan.  Let’s all remember to Respect the Star!  #WedemBoys The Cowboys have the best wide receiver in Dez Bryant.  Never bet against Dez.  Not only does Dez Bryant occupy the Cowboys’ roster, but the offensive line is the toughest and probably the best in the game.  In 2014, Romo was gifted an average of 2.84 seconds in the pocket! Although DeMarco Murray is no longer on the team, the Boys are not lacking in offensive threats.

Not to be shown up by Levi’s Stadium, AT&T Stadium formerly known as Cowboys Stadium and affectionately termed Jerry’s World, is not to be second guessed!  The stadium seats 85,000, making it the largest stadium in the NFL by seating capacity, with the standing room making a total of 105,000.  Jerry’s World has the fourth largest high definition video screen, which hangs from 20-yard line to 20-yard line.  The end zone screens are not too shabby themselves which can be seen from the parking lot!

Lest we not forget, Neiman Marcus was founded in Dallas, TX and it’s headquarters is located in Downtown Dallas! The most important of them all…..

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Please keep in mind that my faves have little, yet enough, to do with football, and there are a dozen other teams that can easily be considered as a Friday Fave, depending on the week!

Which teams are your favorite?  Who will you root for this season?

PS – If  you are looking for some trendy football gear to put on for your city, check out Alyssa Milano’s line, Touch.  You’re welcome!

FAVE STATEMENT NECKLACES

I am so completely behind on the #4FF, it’s RIDIC!  My life has been crazy busy with bachelorette parties, weddings, Sorority stuff, etc.  Nevertheless, I’m here and so are my Four Friday Faves!

Statement necklaces are a must have for every female and can dress up all wardrobe selections. One of my favorite ways to wear one is with jeans and a tee.  Picking just 4 of my faves was hard work, so I just chose what I like in a statement necklace and included the features in the options that I have included below.  Take a peek…

Garland Brooch Collar – I have recently fell in love with the collar style necklace.  This particular style is very regal and feminine and easy on the pockets! This baby from Bauble Bar comes in additional colors, as well.

Bauble Bar Statement

Garland Brooch Collar • $44 • BaubleBar

Tassel Statement Necklace  – So tassels are everywhere right now and what better place than around your neck.  Not to mention, the color of the Carolee necklace below is a statement in itself. Ummm and the bling!  Who doesn’t need a little sparkle on their chest?

Macy's Statement

Carolee Silver-Tone Blue Tassel Statement Necklace • $195 • Macy’s

2-Row Statement Necklace – So, I know Summer is over, and we are storing away pastel colors in preparation for Fall/Winter, but soft colors always make me feel like a girl.  Double Row necklaces add more drama to your statement necklaces, as well.  Grab this one now and store it away for next Spring if you don’t want to wear it now.
